2 1/2 days (20 hours) $479 U.S. 2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) awarded
This workshop is designed with a combination of classroom and hands-on training to enhance the technician’s ability to properly diagnose automotive and light-truck braking systems. We will discuss proper brake friction materials for OE vehicle applications, theory and diagnosis of the hydraulic brake system, bleeding techniques, including ABS-equipped vehicles, and bearing and seal failure analysis. The workshop also includes light-truck ABS system theory and diagnosis.
After completing this workshop, the student will be able to:
- Interpret the proper friction material per vehicle application to reduce customer complaints
- Apply hydraulic theory and understand brake pressures to reduce diagnostic time and eliminate costly misdiagnosis
- Understand measurements of runout and parallelism to diagnose customer complaints
- Analyze failures of brakes, bearings and seals on passenger cars and light trucks to reduce diagnostic time
- Understand the operation of light-truck ABS
- Properly diagnose light-truck ABS systems in a real-world environment
