William S. (Steve) Bowers is senior vice president of Sales and Marketing, a member of the Federal-Mogul Executive Committee and a corporate officer of Federal-Mogul Corporation.
Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Bowers spent 30 years at General Motors Corp. and Delphi Corp., most recently as executive director of Sales, Marketing, and Planning for the Powertrain and Chassis division. Previously, he was based in Tokyo, Japan, as the Asia-Pacific regional director for Delphi’s Powertrain, Chassis, and Steering Divisions. He was responsible for P&L inclusive of engineering, purchasing, operations, manufacturing, sales, and customer service in the markets of Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, and Thailand.
Prior to that, he worked as a chief engineer and spent four years as technical director for Delphi’s European Technical Center in Bascharge, Luxembourg. Bowers’ early career included positions such as engineering group manager, divisional vehicle manager, powertrain control systems engineer, and control systems engineer at General Motors Corp.
Bowers earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. He is the recipient of U.S. and European patents.
